Piton Labs is looking to hire a Full-Time Senior Software Engineer (First Class). We’re seeking a highly capable developer with strong skills in both front-end and back-end development, with particular strength on the server side. Prior, hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure is highly preferred. Experience in startups—either founding one or joining an early-stage team—is considered an additional advantage. We strongly prefer candidates based in time zones between GMT-8 and GMT-3, but candidates from other regions may be considered individually.

At Piton Labs, you’ll work with both startups and large organizations to tackle some of their most complex technical challenges. You’ll deal with high levels of uncertainty and complexity that come with software development, and help clients build their products by clarifying what should be built. Your role won’t be limited to executing items from a pre-made task list—you’ll contribute to setting priorities and focusing on solving the most valuable problems for our clients.

We are broadly tech-agnostic, although most of our projects rely on TypeScript, React, and Go. We typically build cloud infrastructure on AWS, though some clients use other providers. You should have at least five years of experience with common web application development toolsets, relational databases, and modern interface technologies. Familiarity with the specific tools mentioned is not required, but it is beneficial. You should also be able to consistently deliver stable, well-tested code over the long term.

During a typical week, your responsibilities may include:
• Building complex user interfaces for web applications or mobile apps
• Designing and developing serverless API layers for a new product
• Creating and deploying cloud infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code tools
• Reviewing new features with client stakeholders

You’re a self-starter who enjoys programming. You like solving problems and continuously improving your technical skills. The following qualities are important:
• Practical: focused on solving problems and creating value, innovating when needed
• Self-motivated: able to take full ownership of a product or feature, with a clear understanding of both technical and collaboration aspects
• Broad experience: at least five years of experience, exposure to varied projects, and a continuous drive to develop and improve
• Adaptable: able to grow with evolving technology without being limited by narrow specializations

Remote work policy:
• Fully remote team with no physical office
• Highest priority for candidates who have legal work authorization in the United States
• Next priority for candidates based in Canada, Uruguay, or Paraguay
• Must have 4 to 6 hours of daily overlap with U.S. Eastern Time
• Digital nomads are welcome, with full flexibility on location

Why join us:
• Competitive salary: $140,000 per year for candidates in the U.S.
• Significant quarterly profit-sharing, typically between $2,500 and $5,000
• Four weeks of paid vacation
• Fully remote position on an ongoing basis
• Strong work-life balance—you’ll work with fast-growing startups without sacrificing weekends
• A flexible, independent culture with very few meetings and high trust in your ability to deliver
