Piton Labs is hiring a full-time Senior Software Engineer. We’re looking for someone who’s comfortable working across the stack, ideally with a strong focus on back-end development. The ideal candidate will also have solid experience with cloud infrastructure. Prior experience with startups—either founding one or working at an early-stage company—is a plus. We strongly prefer candidates in time zones between GMT-8 (U.S. West Coast) and GMT-3, though other cases may be considered individually.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TECHNOLOGIES

At Piton Labs, you’ll work with both startups and more established organizations to tackle some of their most complex technical challenges. You’ll navigate the ambiguity and complexity inherent in software development, helping clients not only build their products but also determine what should be built. Rather than simply pulling tasks from a backlog, you’ll help define priorities and solve the highest-impact problems for our clients.

We’re technology-agnostic, but most projects use TypeScript, React, and Go. We typically use AWS for cloud infrastructure, though some clients use other providers. You must have at least five years of experience with a major web development stack, relational databases, and a modern front-end stack. Experience with our usual tools is helpful but not required. You must be able to consistently deliver reliable, well-tested code.

A typical week may include:

• Building advanced user interfaces for web or mobile applications
• Designing and developing a serverless API layer for a new web product
• Architecting and provisioning cloud infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code tools
• Presenting new features to client stakeholders

ABOUT YOU

You’re self-sufficient and passionate about writing code. You enjoy solving problems and continuously expanding your technical skills. Your key strengths include:

• Pragmatic: You focus on solving problems and creating value, knowing when to be creative.
• Independent: You take ownership of products or features and understand both technical and human aspects.
• Experienced: With more than five years in the field, you’ve worked across a wide range of projects and refined your craft.
• Adaptable: You evolve with technology and don’t limit yourself to past specialties.

REMOTE WORK POLICY

• The team is fully remote, with no physical office.
• We prefer candidates located in the United States who are legally authorized to work there.
• Secondary preference for candidates in Canada, Uruguay, or Paraguay.
• Expect 4 to 6 hours of overlap with U.S. East Coast working hours on most days.
• Digital nomads are welcome; your work location is flexible.

WHY WORK WITH US

• Competitive salary: $140,000 for candidates based in the U.S.
• Significant quarterly bonuses tied to profit sharing, typically between $2,500 and $5,000
• Four weeks of paid vacation
• Fully remote work, permanently
• Excellent work-life balance: work with fast-growing startups without sacrificing your weekends
• Flexible, asynchronous culture with few meetings and high trust in your ability to deliver
