How You Fit In & The Details: As a Sales Development Representative, you will be a key member of the Sales Development team. Your role will be to find and create sales opportunities through both inbound and outbound calling. The ideal candidate thrives under pressure, thinks creatively, can start relaxed yet informative two-way phone conversations with prospects, and is highly self-driven. You should also understand how to identify a company’s needs and tailor outreach to each prospect. Success in this position requires an ambitious self-starter with relationship-building skills and the ability to manage sales calls across different levels of customer accounts.
This role reports to our Head of Marketing and will work closely with Account Executives, as well as the Marketing and Customer Experience teams. In addition to the responsibilities above, you will:
● Follow up on inbound marketing leads and identify qualified opportunities, providing the right level of information at the right time for interested prospects
● Help develop playbooks for the SDR team, measure results, analyze performance, and continuously improve Vizion’s prospecting outreach
● Build top-of-funnel pipeline and provide monthly progress updates toward goals
● Run outbound prospecting campaigns across our different customer persona segments
● Educate and develop prospects to prepare them for hand-off to the sales team
● Create target account lists and pursue key accounts using ABM methodology
● Schedule appointments and product demos for Account Executives
● Participate in informed, engaging conversations across multiple communication channels
● Serve as a subject matter expert on Vizion’s product offerings and solutions
● Cold call prospects generated through a variety of external sources
● Identify key decision-makers, research business requirements, and present solutions to begin the sales process
● Profile strategic accounts by identifying individuals, researching requirements, and presenting solutions to kick off the sales cycle
● Nurture new marketing leads by educating and developing prospects until they’re ready to speak with a sales representative
● Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to shape strategic sales approaches
● Ensure the sales process moves forward successfully by maintaining accurate activity and lead qualification details in the CRM
● Look for new ideas and methods to improve prospecting and lead generation
Basic Qualifications:
● 2–3 years of Business Development or Sales Development experience in SaaS or Technology (supply chain logistics is strongly preferred)
● BA/BS degree preferred
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and excellent organization
● Fearlessness—willing to reach out to new people every day and clearly explain Vizion’s value proposition to everyone you interact with
● A strong focus on prospect satisfaction—set the stage for effective follow-up
● The courage to challenge the status quo when logic and reason require it (if something is broken, fix it)
● Flexibility—things change quickly here
● The ability to learn Vizion quickly and become knowledgeable within weeks, plus the curiosity to keep learning for years
● Strong understanding of email communication and social engagement (keep your inbox at zero)
● Familiarity with HubSpot, Apollo, and Sales Navigator (preferred)
Perks & Benefits:
● We strongly support equal pay for equal work and use compensation transparency as one way to achieve that. Total compensation for this role is competitive, including a base salary range of $55,000 to $65,000. Vizion will set base pay within this range based on non-discriminatory, job-related factors such as experience and location.
