## The Role
As an accountant, “crunching the numbers” can feel monotonous—but not here. Reporting to a Senior Accountant, the Staff Accountant will take a hands-on approach to meeting the organization’s financial reporting needs, while also enjoying the work and making a meaningful impact.
## What You Will Do
– Prepare journal entries, schedules, and month-end close analysis in accordance with GAAP
– Support external tax accountants by gathering documentation for federal and state tax returns
– Work with external auditors by providing documentation and deliverables for the annual audit
– File state sales tax returns and 1099s as needed
– Research and stay up to date on tax laws
– Process accounts payable
– Coordinate with the Billing team on collections issues
– Coordinate with the Payroll team to review and record payroll
– Help integrate potential acquisitions into existing systems and processes
– Assist in creating and documenting finance department policies and procedures
– Analyze financial information for accuracy and clearly explain significant changes and trends
## What You Need to Succeed
– 1–2+ years of accounting experience in a corporate environment
– Strong knowledge of GAAP principles
– Ability to think critically and take on new, challenging tasks
– Ability to follow direction, work with minimal supervision, and collaborate across departments and management levels
– Strong attention to detail and excellent time management, prioritization, and organizational skills
– Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Suite; QuickBooks knowledge preferred
– Experience creating Pivot Tables
– Strong written and verbal communication skills
– Strong math, problem-solving, and analytical skills
– Ability to maintain strict confidentiality

## Compensation
The salary range for this position is $55,000–$83,000. You may also be eligible for a discretionary bonus. Compensation within the range depends on skills, experience, qualifications, location, and applicable employment laws.
## Location
This is a permanent, full-time, fully remote role. Employees who live in Indianapolis, IN may work from our corporate headquarters. We do not offer visa sponsorship or relocation assistance at this time.
