What’s the opportunity?
As the Regulatory and Licensing Officer for the MENA region, you will handle all compliance and regulatory matters connected to Dlocal’s operations and help oversee the company’s legal entities. In this position, you will support business expansion while acting as a safeguard against regulatory, legal, and reputational risks.
What will I be doing?
1. Provide legal expertise on financial, payments, and fintech regulations across MENA countries.
2. Offer practical guidance to internal teams to identify risks, implement regulatory requirements, and assess regulatory impacts from start to finish, helping the business scale effectively.
3. Advise stakeholders on relevant laws and regulations, create and deliver training materials, evaluate training effectiveness, and monitor compliance with training plans.
4. Inform management about legal and regulatory implications across all divisions, highlighting potential revenue opportunities or cost-saving measures.
5. Work with stakeholders across Dlocal’s business units to ensure compliance with regulatory and legal obligations.
6. Support initiatives that promote company-wide understanding of regulatory requirements and the importance of compliance.
7. Help draft internal policies and processes.
8. Maintain a compliance calendar and coordinate the timely submission of legal and regulatory filings with relevant teams.
9. Continuously assess and advise departments on AML and CFT matters, data privacy, and fintech regulations.
What skills do I need?
1. An advanced degree, preferably in law, compliance, finance, or a related field.
2. More than 5 years of experience in a regulatory, compliance, or legal advisory role.
3. Fluency in written and spoken English.
4. Experience in an international company, payments firm, financial institution, or law firm is essential.
5. Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
6. Professional, adaptable, accountable, and hands-on.
