Role: As an engineering team member, you will work on customer-facing applications and system tooling. Our stack is primarily made up of Ruby on Rails with a ReactJS front-end, but we are expanding our platform to also include Python-based applications.

This position is fully remote, but you must be located and authorized to work in the U.S.

Your day to day includes

Work on greenfield projects that help us move to a microservices architecture
Convert legacy codebase into modern REST API driven design
Provide input into decision making, roadmaps, and development milestones
Build features, resolve bugs, deploy hotfixes, and perform peer code review
Write clear documentation for QA, engineering, and non-technical colleagues
Creating and expanding test suites for new and existing applications
Regularly participate in agile ceremonies including daily scrum, backlog grooming, sprint planning, and retrospectives

What makes you a great fit

5+ years experience in Python software engineering
At least 2 years as a senior engineer or lead role
Experience Python frameworks such Flask and Django
Experience with most of the technologies in our stack (MySQL, Elasticsearch, Redis)
Should have experience consuming, designing, and creating RESTful APIs
Think critically about new features, consider user needs and long-term maintainability
Ability to be self-driven and work with minimal supervision
Ability to work in a team setting

It’s a plus if you have

Experience with Ruby and Ruby on Rails
Proficient in multiple interpreted/compiled languages
Background in data science, artificial intelligence, and machine learning
Experience building machine learning, AI, computer vision, deep learning, and natural language processing-based products
A willingness to take on a wide range of responsibilities
Experience working remotely in a fast-paced startup environment
