Poleeto is a new Irish political start-up that helps you understand how the government works, who represents you, and which parties think what.

We’re looking for an aspiring Python Developer/Cofounder to join an ambitious team of three to help in the development of Poleeto’s social features, particularly a social media aggregation feed.

Key requirements:

• Experience in and solid grasp of Python, Django and AngularJS;
• Knowledge of social network development and content feeds.

Work will include:

• Modelling political data and presenting it in a user-friendly way;
• Social network features, e.g. work on an activity feed and notifications, collating social network feeds;
• Implementing features for discussions, like up/down-voting of comments with a reputation system, load comments on demand in long discussions;
• Other software development roles that may arise during this early stage.

Most of all, you must have a real fire for writing great code, a very strong interest in politics and current affairs, and the desire to be an integral, founding part of an early-stage start-up (and all the ups and downs that entails).

This isn’t a paid position and as such, our new team member will need to absolutely buy into our vision for Poleeto. We all work full time and work on the site whenever we’re free.

As such, this role is ideally suited to the passionate student, or to the freelancer looking to really get stuck into something new.
