Position Summary:

Project Management:

Responsible for all aspects of Project Management for System Engineering and technology Infrastructure related projects, including Data Center, Network Infrastructure, Servers Environment, System Architecture, and System Design projects. Responsibilities include, collecting and documenting technical system and business requirements. Ensures the successful on-time, on-budget delivery of these projects. Responsibilities include, determining project scope, timelines, tracking project progress and measuring outcomes.

Collaborates with internal departments, project stakeholders, and vendors to ensure proper alignment to project strategy, budget and objectives. Provides progress reports to the IT Director, Infrastructure, Security and Operations and works closely with both Network and System Engineers.

System Engineering:

Responsible for System Engineering work to monitor, analyze and maintains Microsoft Servers in virtualized VMware server environment. Develops and maintains recovery strategies and procedures. Installs and tests operating system patches and upgrades using proper change management procedures. Requires thorough understanding and working experience, including maintaining, installing, monitoring and performance tuning of Enterprise class servers, medium to large-scale Windows server 2008/2012, and VMware Vsphere environments are required.

Responsibilities:

  • Project Management (40%): Working with IT Director, Infrastructure, Security and Operations, to manage assigned technical projects and project management as needed. Coordinate/manage projects between technical and non-technical staff and organizational departments. Analyze business technical service needs and propose solutions. Plans and manage the technical implementation of necessary technical solutions.

  • System Engineering (30%): Responsible for System Engineering, in coordinating and scheduling the installation, configuration, and maintenance of systems in conjunction with technical projects. Participates in and leads technical projects providing guidelines and technical guidance for system administration and system security.

  • Project Initiation (10%): Assists in developing project requests with necessary project scope, requirements and funding. Determining requirements and timelines for approval and prioritization by the IT Director and IT Governance Committee. Collects and documents requirements, business processes and use cases to ensure project meets business needs.

  • Project Execution (15%): Develop project charters and plans specifying goals, strategy, dependencies, staffing, scheduling, risk management/contingency plans, communication plans and allocation of resources. Build the work breakdown structure including scheduled deliverables and project milestones. Manage functional and technology resources towards achievement of project goals and timelines, holding them accountable for deliverables. Manage project risk and issues taking corrective action where required.

  • Change Management (5%): Develop formal change plans based on project impacts. Assist System Engineering, Network Engineering and other technology personnel in managing change across the organization.
