The Role We’re Hiring For:
PadSplit is looking for a Product Designer to join our Member Growth team, focusing on the member side of our two‑sided marketplace. This role is essential to ensuring the right members join PadSplit while safeguarding hosts, communities, and the platform from fraud and misuse. You will design experiences where growth, trust, and risk intersect — places where clarity, fairness, and empathy are crucial.
Who We’re Seeking:
We want a thoughtful, steady designer who can navigate complex and sensitive challenges. You value fairness and clear communication, and you can explain not only what is required, but why. You approach trust, safety, and verification issues as fundamentally human problems and enjoy working with Product, CX, Data, Legal, and Engineering to make sense of complicated systems.
What You’ll Handle Day to Day:
• Designing member-facing flows for screening, identity checks, and income verification
• Building experiences that integrate with API-driven identity, income, and background verification tools
• Improving processes that must balance conversion, trust, and fraud prevention
• Partnering closely with Product, CX, Data, Legal, and Engineering
• Creating clear, respectful paths for edge cases like delays, failures, reviews, retries, and denials
• Helping members understand what’s happening and why during sensitive steps
• Designing collections-related experiences with empathy, transparency, and dignity
• Using research and data to spot friction, test ideas, and iterate thoughtfully over time
What You Need to Succeed:
• Experience designing complex, multi-step, or high-stakes product flows, ideally in fintech, marketplaces, or regulated spaces
• Strong ability to blend qualitative research with quantitative insights
• Comfort designing for identity, income, financial, verification, or fraud-related experiences
• Working knowledge of API-based systems and how errors or latency affect user experience
• Clear communication skills with the ability to simplify complex requirements
• Strong systems thinking, understanding how upstream choices shape downstream results
• Demonstrated success working cross-functionally with Product, CX, Data, Legal, and Engineering
• Sound judgment and a balanced approach when weighing growth, safety, and fairness
Interview Process:
• Humans — not bots — will review your resume, including PeopleOps and the Head of Design
• If selected, you’ll start with a 30‑minute video call with PeopleOps
• Next is a one-hour video interview with the hiring manager
• Finalists will join a one-hour panel interview with key PadSplit stakeholders
• The panel includes a design exercise to demonstrate your skills
• If all goes well, we proceed to an offer
Compensation:
$100,000 to $115,000 per year, based on the role’s scope, market benchmarks, your experience, and your impact.
Additional Notes:
Although the posting lists Atlanta, Georgia, this role is fully remote; our ATS requires a location for LinkedIn postings.
