We are seeking a Precision Medicine Program Director, Central to join our fast-growing Oncology Sales team.

**What You Will Do**
– Grow the business by focusing on laboratory opportunities across academic and community hospitals, as well as third-party private laboratories nationwide.
– Build strategic relationships with pathology departments, focusing on precision medicine turnkey solutions that can lead to deeper collaboration with Tempus.
– Engage with Laboratory Medical Directors, Pathologists, Molecular Pathologists, Laboratory Professionals, and Radiologists as needed.
– Work closely with Tempus’ oncology-focused team.
– Create strategic initiatives and tactics to engage pathologists and identify opportunities where Tempus products align with the needs of pathology labs.
– Sell oncology services and products to pathology groups and laboratories.
– Enable reflex testing options for Tempus after internal panel testing and other relevant considerations.
– Provide business solutions to hospital and laboratory professionals.
– Evaluate business opportunities and develop strategic sales plans for your assigned territory.
– Build and maintain strong relationships with both new and existing clients.
– Apply oncology market knowledge and experience when discussing the healthcare payer environment and its impact on physicians and ancillary providers.
– Understand information technology and how it connects with physician office systems; be able to demo technology solutions (e.g., portals and EMR connectivity) and recommend hardware and software to improve workflow efficiency.
– Maintain strong “core” knowledge of competitive products, services, technology solutions, and reimbursement/billing issues.
– Demonstrate “core” knowledge of anatomic pathology, technology solutions, and competitive approaches using company resources, on-the-job training, internal materials, marketing assets, and sales brochures.
– Coordinate with hospital billing departments to follow up on specific claim details to support proper hospital payment, when appropriate.

**Required Skills**
– Strong knowledge of the Diagnostic Services industry; molecular diagnostics experience is highly preferred.
– Preferred experience selling oncology-based tests and services to pathology and/or oncology clinical communities.
– Experience in complex sales environments.
– Ability to prioritize and align organizational goals and objectives to drive innovation.
– Ability to develop and leverage cross-functional relationships to achieve work goals.
– Ability to present an integrated MolDx/SaaS solution to prospects and customers using Tempus sequencing technology.
– Strong consultative selling skills to address objections and indifference while aligning client needs with Tempus capabilities.
– Comfortable selling at the executive level (CEO, COO, CFO).
– Deep understanding of the payer and reimbursement landscape in oncology and diagnostics.
– Ability to work independently, communicate proactively, manage multiple projects, prioritize daily tasks, and meet critical deadlines.
– Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and technical learning skills.
– Advanced written and oral communication skills.
– Strong administrative skills and the ability to manage business in complex environments.
– Knowledge and ability to apply strategic planning, sales strategy development, and tactical execution.
– Experience and understanding of managing the financial dynamics of a commercial organization.
– Expertise in healthcare, with emphasis on molecular diagnostics, genomics, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and oncology.
– Excellent listening and problem-solving skills.
– Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain a high level of confidentiality.
– Consistent ability to close throughout the sales cycle.
– Positive attitude and understanding of the dynamics of organizational growth and change.
– Impeccable verbal/written communication and presentation skills.
– Proficiency with all Microsoft Office tools—especially Excel and PowerPoint.
– Effective and consistent use of Salesforce.
– Ability to develop and leverage cross-functional relationships to achieve work goals.
– Advanced presentation skills and strong business acumen are required.
– Demonstrate Tempus values by acting with integrity, respect, and trust, and representing our culture at all times to external and internal stakeholders.
– Frequent travel (~50%) throughout the territory as needed.

**Preferred Education and Experience**
– 5+ years of experience in a relevant industry/commercial setting (pathology, oncology, diagnostics, research products).
– Bachelor’s degree required.
– Proven success throughout your sales career.

**Compensation**
$52,500 — $80,000 per year.
