• Contribute to the code base that runs the Vultr Control Plane
• Work with various operating systems to build images that will be deployed millions of time on the platform
• Contribute to DB Table design with efficient queries
• Enhance efficiency of our custom deployment microservices
• Advance the automation of our QEMU/KVM virtualization platform
• Create cloud networking features based on VXlan
• Create systems for improved observability and reliability

Salary Range: $75,000 – $125,000

Skills & requirements

Our new team member will need:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
Strong Linux Experience including KVM Virtualization, Linux Networking, and OSS tools and packages
Experience comprehending logs for troubleshooting
Proficient understanding of object-oriented programming languages (PHP, Java, C, C++, etc) Strong PHP is a plus
Proficient understanding of multi-paradigm programming languages (Python, Go, Rust) Strong Python is a plus
CI/CD and other automation experience
Package building with Cloud-init, packer, bash scripting, kickstart, etc.
Database fundamentals
Networking fundamentals with FRR and BGP a plus
Frontend development fundamentals
Proficient back-end experience with API Design experience
CEPH experience a plus
Ability to partner across teams to achieve a common goal
Understanding of business processes and ability to translate business requirements into application functionality
Demonstrated ability using critical thinking to resolve complex problems
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
