Jelli is hiring a Senior Performance Engineer for our Platform team. As a member of this team, you will have a key role in our product’s success. You will work with developers to measure and optimize our audio advertising solutions for our customers — from the biggest brands to your favorite local coffee shop. You will own feature delivery from design to deployment while working alongside a team of smart people who like to jump right into things and aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty.

THE TECHNOLOGY
Our SaaS applications are powered by Ember.js on the front end and Java on the back end
We utilize Amazon AWS infrastructure to host our application servers (Java, Python) and database server (MySQL, DynamoDB, MongoDB)
WHAT YOU’LL DO ON AN AVERAGE DAY
Design and conduct tests with complex workloads and data shapes to expose potential bottlenecks and failure points
Analyze performance results to identify system inefficiencies and suggest optimizations to address the same
Analyze metrics and trends to glean opportunities for performance improvements
Conduct technical presentations to educate teams on how to improve system performance
Devise innovative solutions to improve performance engineering effectiveness
WHAT’S REQUIRED?
6+ years of professional experience in performance engineering and benchmarking
Strong coding skills (Java, MySQL)
Strong experience in bottleneck analysis, profiling and tracing
Extensive hands-on experience with performance engineering, including the use of JMeter, LoadRunner or similar tools, as well as profiling tools
Strong hands-on experience on system monitoring tools and frameworks
Comfortable with Linux, Docker, AWS, git, Nexus
