**Office travel expectations**
**For remote roles:** If this role is remote, you may be required to travel to and from the Mississauga and/or Salt Lake City office for in-office events. This may include onboarding, team events, and semi-annual and annual team meetings, among others.
**For hybrid roles:** If this role is hybrid, you are expected to live within commuting distance of the office/location listed in the job posting. This includes, but is not limited to, weekly/bi-weekly/monthly in-office events with your specific team. This is required for the role.

**Position Summary:**
Reporting to the Payroll Manager, the Payroll Specialist plays a key role in supporting a workforce of more than 1,100 employees in the United States. The position is responsible for processing and reviewing semi-monthly and bi-weekly payroll and ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable legislation.

The Payroll Specialist serves as a subject matter expert for payroll processes and procedures. The role focuses on administering payroll procedures and assisting other departments when needed. It also acts as a point of contact for employee questions and concerns related to payroll issues. The role requires full-cycle payroll experience with Dayforce (Ceridian), the ability to multitask, and the capability to work independently. Integrity, strong attention to detail, and excellent time management are essential.

**Key Responsibilities:**
– Prepare and process full-cycle payroll and related activities in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
– Handle irregular payments such as annual bonuses, leave top-ups, salary continuance, commissions, bonuses, termination payments, and overtime/on-call time entries.
– Audit employee timecards for accuracy and completeness in the time and attendance module.
– Manage garnishments and employment verification requests as required.
– Administer and reconcile employee benefit deductions and employer contributions in Dayforce.
– Prepare and upload 401(k) and HSA contribution files and record journal entries.
– Communicate payroll schedules and deadlines across departments to support payroll inputs.
– Assist with preparation of W-2s and annual reconciliations.
– Support internal and external audits, including government and third-party external payroll audit requirements.
– Maintain and update payroll documentation for all workflow and system procedures needed to support U.S. payroll.
– Resolve employee payroll questions by researching policies and procedures and providing timely answers and solutions.
– Provide feedback and suggestions for process improvements to increase efficiency and support continuous improvement.

**Required Experience:**
– Minimum 3 years of related experience administering full-cycle payroll.
– Minimum 1 year of recent Dayforce (Ceridian) experience.
– Knowledge of payroll practices and U.S. legislation.
– Intermediate Excel skills.
– Highly organized and detail-oriented, able to set priorities and meet tight deadlines.
– Customer-service mindset with strong verbal and written communication skills.
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
– Ability to handle confidential information ethically and professionally.
– Post-secondary education or equivalent business experience.
– Payroll Professional designation.

**Salary: $74,000 – $82,000 per year**

At PointClickCare, base salary is part of a broader total rewards package. The U.S. base salary range for this position is $74,000–$82,000 plus bonus and benefits (non-overtime eligible). Salary ranges are determined by job and level. The range shown reflects the target for new hire salaries across all U.S. locations. Within the range, compensation is based on job-related skills and knowledge, relevant experience (including professional and lived experience), and/or work location.
