The Graphic Design Project Coordinator plays an important role in launching new products by ensuring a smooth workflow as projects move from internal and external customers to the internal cross-functional product development team. This position ensures packaging projects are completed efficiently by partnering with internal and external stakeholders to manage incoming requests, track priorities, and oversee work from start to finish—so new items launch on time. The role collaborates with the brand marketing team, sales team, cross-functional partners, outside packaging vendors, and private label customers.
– **Project Coordination (40%)** – Coordinate and manage multiple packaging timelines across different groups and customers.
– Release files to vendors, archive assets as they are released for print, and obtain copies of final production-ready assets.
– Archive post-production files according to production guidelines.
– Maintain the department’s project tracking database, including:
– Track and report request intake.
– Track and report job status.
– Track and report job approvals.
– Ensure project brief templates are completed before the design team’s quality evaluation.
– Catalog and manage all packaging-related files efficiently, including dielines, image assets, brand logos, fonts, and more.
– Route proofs and manage project workflow across the right departments, vendors, and clients, while aligning with timing needs and schedule milestones.
– **Production Artist (as needed)** – Revise files based on requested changes (primarily regulatory) and ensure all files released for print are print-ready.
– Initiate and maintain relationships with print vendors and keep them current on required specifications.
– Build and maintain relationships with customers to keep them aligned on required specs and processes.
– Act as a brand steward to ensure brand guidelines are followed for each internal and private label brand.
– Ensure all packaging updates and requirements are completed on time and within the overall product development schedule to support on-time launches.
– Occasionally create creative assets such as 3D mockups, sell sheets, and trade show signage using existing brand graphic materials, and assist with off-site press checks and photo shoot attendance.
**Qualifications**
– Bachelor’s degree
– Minimum 5+ years of relevant CPG experience
– Regulatory knowledge required (e.g., Nutrition Facts, ingredients, claims)
– Experience with Mac and Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign
– Packaging graphics creation and production experience is a plus
– Comfortable working under tight deadlines
– Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
