Aledade is accepting applications for its 2026 Summer Internship Program. Interns collaborate closely with senior leaders and take on meaningful, hands-on projects that deepen their understanding of Aledade’s operations and the broader healthcare system. The program lasts 10 weeks, running from June 1 to August 7, 2026.

The medical student intern will complete a practical, population health–focused value-based care project under the supervision of the Population Health Impact team in partnership with Aledade First. The intern will choose a topic from the provided list and produce a final output such as a white paper, educational materials for practices or patients, or other media that supports population health in the communities served.

Possible project topics include:
• The Community Deprivation Index and its impact on value-based care performance
• How Gemba Walks influence patient engagement and activation in areas with high CDI scores
• Population health assessments for primary care practices
• Reducing diabetes-related health disparities in historically marginalized populations
• CLAS standards and evaluating health literacy to improve patient engagement
• The role of UniteUs in addressing social drivers of health in rural communities

Additional responsibilities include:
• Leading a weekly 30‑minute journal club discussion for the Population Health Impact team
• Participating in at least one Gemba Walk practice visit
• Learning about the Aledade First program and connecting with current residents
• Attending scheduled meet-and-greets and mentorship sessions with Aledade staff

Beyond their primary projects, interns will:
• Join cohort meetings to hear from company leaders, engage in professional development, and connect with peers
• Interact with senior executives and leaders in the health industry
• Build knowledge in healthcare policy, programming, business operations, Medicare, payer contracts, and clinical workflows
• Participate in relevant healthcare events and trainings

Ideal candidates will have prior internship experience, strong academic performance, and be:
• Passionate about healthcare and driven to make a positive impact
• Proactive and able to take initiative and ownership of their work
• Strong team collaborators
• Detail-oriented and committed to producing high-quality work
