The Impact of a Talent Development Senior Manager to Coupa:
The Sr Manager, Talent Development is a strategic role within Talent Strategy focused on the design, management and coordination of programs focused on the retention and development of employees by fostering a high-performance culture withing our company. This position is responsible for developing and executing the implementation strategy globally while providing implementation support and guidance to HR Business Partners and business leaders (as needed) along with an independent strategic viewpoint on talent development programs and practices.
This role will work across the business units and functions with HR Business Partners to gain alignment on key program design and execution elements ensuring consistency across the organization. The Talent Development Senior Manager is responsible for the global design, successful execution and continuous improvement of the Goal Cascade, Performance Management, Talent Assessment, and Succession Planning programs along with appropriate team and leadership tools and practices to drive performance excellence.
What You’ll Do:

    • Combining strategic thought leadership, internal client consulting, and immaculate problem solving into a single mix of design and delivery
    • In partnership with the HRBPs – lead the planning, execution and continuous improvement of the performance management and talent assessment annual programs
    • Under the direction of the SVP Talent Strategy, design the critical role and succession planning process to support building bench strength for Vice President and below positions. In partnership with the HRBPs, lead the planning, execution and continuous improvement of the critical role and succession planning annual planning process.
    • Partner with the Organizational Effectiveness COE leader to ensure a seamless handoff between the annual performance management and goal cascade processes
    • Partner with the Total Rewards COE to ensure a seamless transition between performance management and compensation and promotion planning annually such that the processes appear integrated to employees
    • Partner with HRBPs and learning consultants to develop performance and talent strategies and programs to provide regular feedback, set performance and development goals, and support career growth for all team members
    • Building, coaching and facilitating teams through the effective use of tools and supporting HRBPs and leaders in creating a high-performance environment
    • Championing the individual development of managers, emerging leaders and leaders
    • Educating supporting managers on IDP best practices and facilitating the overall implementation of career mapping of high potentials, emerging leaders and managers included on succession plans
    • Driving global alignment on philosophy, tools, process and timing ensuring a consistent approach and execution across the company
    • Partnering with Centers of Excellence to ensure appropriate integration and alignment with compensation and development programs
    • Supporting the creation and implementation of comprehensive communication plans for all levels of the organization
    • Collecting, analyzing and maintaining data gathered to inform performance and talent process improvements
    • Partnering with HR Business Partners to help identify and address business unit performance opportunities and talent gap opportunities
    • Incorporating research, industry best practices and past experiences to the design and optimization of performance and talent tools
    • Assisting in the needs/gap analysis process to identify and recommend development solutions
    • Owning the 360 feedback and two-way (employee-people leader) feedback strategy and process
    • Partners with external consultants and vendors to ensure programs developed represent a best practice approach
What You Will Bring to Coupa:

    • Highly experienced and seasoned professional with 10+ years of experience in organizational development or related field
    • Proven track record of creating, maintaining, and enhancing cross-functional relationships and communicating effectively with senior management
    • Demonstrated leadership experience, leading teams and leaders
    • Demonstrate ability to work collaboratively and influence others
    • Excellent consultative skills, with exceptional oral and written communication and presentation skills
    • Demonstrated experience translating and communicating complex topics in easy and approachable ways
    • Ability to lead and influence cross-functional team members and stakeholders around shared vision of defined outcomes in order to achieve goals and objectives
    • Broad Talent Management experience with emphasis in talent development, succession/performance management, leadership development, learning, and diversity & inclusion
    • It is important that this person have a record of accomplishment with best-in-class talent management strategies and teams across growing organizations
    • Proven experience in diagnosing organization capability requirements and translating these into practical solutions, including leader development and talent management practices, processes and/or programs
    • Demonstrated understanding of learning, training, and leadership development; and an awareness and understanding of the learner of the future
    • Ability to recognize great talent and potential in individuals. S/He will lead an efficient process for talent development and career building, improving on talent retention and engagement
    • Proven relationship-building, continuous improvement, lean principles, and project management skills
    • Outstanding communications skills, including written, verbal and presentation. Demonstrated ability to champion a continuous learning approach to enhance organizational capability and foster innovation
