As Head of Editorial for Northern Europe, you will direct Spotify’s editorial vision and strategy across the UK, Ireland, and the Netherlands. You will shape how audiences in these regions discover and experience music on Spotify through playlists, programming, and new editorial formats. In this role, you will work closely with teams both locally and globally, lead and grow a high-performing editorial team, develop creative talent, and strengthen Spotify’s position as a culturally relevant and trusted voice in music.

Reporting to the regional Head of Music, you will set editorial direction, manage our playlist ecosystem, champion creative storytelling, and elevate how Spotify represents artists, genres, and cultural moments. You’ll bring a strong editorial point of view, deep knowledge of both local and global music cultures, and the ability to turn insights and trends into meaningful listener experiences. This role also includes overseeing regional editorial video efforts, guiding on‑camera style, collaborating with production teams, and experimenting with new content formats.

What You’ll Do
• Lead the editorial strategy for Northern Europe, ensuring Spotify’s playlists and programming reflect the culture, sound, and stories of the UK, Ireland, and the Netherlands.
• Manage, mentor, and grow a diverse team of editors, promoting creativity, inclusion, and excellence.
• Define and evolve our editorial voice across playlists, written and visual content, and short‑form formats on and off the platform.
• Oversee editorial video, setting presentation direction and partnering with production teams to deliver high-quality content.
• Use data, insights, and audience behavior to inform decisions and shape editorial priorities.
• Identify emerging music trends, scenes, and cultural moments to ensure Spotify’s programming stays timely, authoritative, and influential.
• Maintain and refine a strong playlist ecosystem that supports artist growth and boosts listener engagement.
• Collaborate with Artist and Label Partnerships, Marketing, Communications, Product, and other teams to align editorial strategy with broader company goals.
• Represent Spotify to artists, partners, media, and industry stakeholders, advocating for our editorial vision in Northern Europe.

Who You Are
• You have more than 10 years of experience in the music industry, journalism, or programming/curation for digital platforms, radio, TV, or other media, including experience managing teams.
• You are an experienced editorial leader with a background in music programming, media, or storytelling and a passion for serving diverse audiences.
• You have deep knowledge of the music cultures and industry landscape in the UK, Ireland, and the Netherlands.
• You bring a strong editorial voice and can identify new talent, trends, and cultural movements with authenticity and nuance.
• You are comfortable using data and audience insights to guide editorial choices and shape clear narratives.
• You excel at developing talent, inspiring teams, and fostering a culture of creativity, inclusion, and continuous learning.
• You are a confident communicator who can work with a wide range of stakeholders and influence senior partners.
• You are organized, adaptable, and comfortable navigating shifting priorities in a fast-moving environment.
• You are comfortable on camera and have experience collaborating with video or content production teams.
• You care deeply about inclusive experiences and contributing to a workplace where everyone feels they belong.

Where You’ll Be
• This role is based in our London office.
• We support flexibility so you can work where you are most effective, with planned moments of intentional in‑person collaboration.
