Develop the AI infrastructure for In the Chat’s data tier. This is a message-passingnetwork of Java daemons that acquires large volumes of data from Twitter, Facebook, Twilio, chat clients and other sources. The daemons classify the incoming messages and route them tocall centre agents. See ‘About the Company’ for more on the application. Classification uses a variety of techniques, most prominently rule-based Natural Language Processing but including supervised Machine Learning. Our NLP is based on our own components, Java-based. Your job will be to enhance our NLP engine, and expand our use of Machine Learning into some areas of low-hanging fruit in our application.

We prefer that individuals work on site face to face with their team-mates, most of the time. We will consider remote-only but in that case you must be resident in Canada or the United States. We prefer permanentemployment arrangements but we will consider contract arrangements.
