Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled WordPress + Next.js Developer to join our dynamic team at The Humble Hackers. Our stack includes Next.js (frontend), WordPress (backend), Tailwind CSS, and Cloudflare for hosting and performance. The ideal candidate has strong experience bridging modern front-end frameworks with a WordPress backend, and a sharp eye for both performance and usability.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain performant front-end interfaces using Next.js and Tailwind CSS.

  • Customize and manage WordPress backend architecture, including theme and plugin development.

  • Collaborate with designers to translate wireframes and mockups into functional, responsive UIs.

  • Ensure smooth integration between the Next.js frontend and WordPress backend via APIs.

  • Optimize performance using Cloudflare for caching, edge functions, and CDN delivery.

  • Implement CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployments and version control.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve functional or performance issues across the stack.

  • Maintain secure and up-to-date websites, adhering to web standards and best practices.

  • Utilize RESTful APIs or GraphQL (if applicable) to manage data between systems.

  • Conduct code reviews and follow clean coding standards to ensure high-quality output.


Experience & Skills

  • Proven experience as a Full-Stack Developer, with a focus on WordPress and Next.js.

  • Proficiency in JavaScript, PHP, HTML, CSS, and Tailwind CSS.

  • Experience working with WordPress REST API or custom API endpoints.

  • Familiarity with front-end state management (e.g., Redux, React Context).

  • Understanding of deployment workflows, ideally using CI/CD pipelines.

  • Experience optimizing websites for SEO, accessibility, and performance.

  • A detail-oriented mindset, strong debugging skills, and ability to work independently.

  • Strong problem solving skills and resourcefulness.
