About the role and what makes it unique:

• Track injury updates in real time, including injury news, lineup changes, and practice reports

• Respond quickly to breaking updates to support the Underdog Twitter accounts (@Underdog_NBA and @UnderdogWNBA)

• Write detailed summaries for each update, including clear, practical takeaways

• Keep internal admin materials accurate and current

• Collaborate with Sports Information Managers to inform strategic decisions

• Report on and plan team coverage on a weekly basis

• Lead team meetings by setting agendas and driving the editorial plan and overall strategy

• Support the team with additional tasks as needed

Who you are:

• At least 4 years of experience covering the NBA

• Experience managing or running a news-focused account

• A self-starter who learns quickly, with strong attention to detail

• Highly driven by breaking news

• Available to work nights and weekends in line with the sports schedule

• Deep, broad knowledge of the NBA

• Able to review and synthesize large volumes of information efficiently and on time

The target starting base salary range for this role is $72,000 to $95,000, plus target equity. Final base pay will depend on several factors, including skills and experience. Benefits we can offer:
