About the role and what makes it unique:
Track injury updates in real time, including injury news, lineup changes, and practice reports
Respond quickly to breaking updates to support the Underdog Twitter accounts (@Underdog_NBA and @UnderdogWNBA)
Write detailed summaries for each update, including clear, practical takeaways
Keep internal admin materials accurate and current
Collaborate with Sports Information Managers to inform strategic decisions
Report on and plan team coverage on a weekly basis
Lead team meetings by setting agendas and driving the editorial plan and overall strategy
Support the team with additional tasks as needed
Who you are:
At least 4 years of experience covering the NBA
Experience managing or running a news-focused account
A self-starter who learns quickly, with strong attention to detail
Highly driven by breaking news
Available to work nights and weekends in line with the sports schedule
Deep, broad knowledge of the NBA
Able to review and synthesize large volumes of information efficiently and on time

The target starting base salary range for this role is $72,000 to $95,000, plus target equity. Final base pay will depend on several factors, including skills and experience. Benefits we can offer:
