So, you took your degree and signed up to the corporate life, lured by promises of problem solving, learning about business and a tidy salary. But it wasn’t what it was cracked up to be. What you want is to get your hands on a business, take responsibility and turn your analysis and hypotheses into actions and results. Good.

You’re thinking that some sort of Business Analyst role in a startup might do the trick? Well, most startups don’t actually have much of a business to analyse. With a sharp, data-hungry mind like yours, you should be looking for a Marketing role. For consumer-facing startups, marketing provides the lifeblood of our businesses: customers. We’re fighting a constant battle to acquire more customers for less money. And it takes someone with a rigorous brain and ceaseless curiosity to do that. That’s why we’re talking to you.

We’re young and growing fast but we want to grow even faster; this is why we’re looking for a bright young thing like you to lead our marketing efforts. Your role will be to manage our advertising spend across a range of channels including Google AdWords, Facebook, Twitter, Search and so on. You’ll be constantly learning new tricks to impress Google’s Ad Rank system, working out how to drive more acquisitions from Facebook, signing partnerships etc. It doesn’t matter if you don’t know what all this means. What matters is that you are highly numerate and able to write well, quick to learn, eager to take on a ton of responsibility, self-motivated, business savvy and badass at Excel. On the boring stuff, you’ll need to have a top degree from a top university and some decent work experience (we’re thinking consultancy, banking, accountancy, engineering but are open to suggestions. Marketing might help too.).

Right now, you’re not in it for the money. You want to learn. However, we want to pay you more and for you to grow as we grow. This is no short-haul thing. This job will change your life. Ready? Give us a shout.
