We have an exciting opening for a bright, talented and passionate Linux team leader to join our managed services infrastructure division. To build, implement and maintain Linux based web and Big data application systems. As part of an overall team of thirty you will be leading a team of five Linux system and application engineers, collaborating to ensure availability, performance, reliability, and security for our users and clients.

Together with the other members of the infrastructure team covering a wide spread of technologies, you will focus on the Linux based aspects of our operation. Working on exciting projects to deliver enterprise level hosted solutions for our large blue chip clients.

Coordinating and supervising the work of your team
Providing a point of contact between your team, internal management and client escalations
Talent and career development of your team, through direct mentoring and the review process
Participate in senior technical management discussions
Identify resource requirements match capability to ensure current and new contracts can be fulfilled
Overseeing complex troubleshooting activities to ensure resolution, RCA and CSI are conducted
Working with service managers and other technical team leaders to ensure the overall service is delivered successfully, both proactively and reactively
Analyse system capacity, performance and events to prevent systematic and recurring incidents
Setting strategy and long-term roadmap for applying technical best practices
Working with HR to recruit both permanent and contract staff
Pre sign off of change controls and overseeing configuration knowledge management for the Linux environments
Leading a team in the following:
Linux platform administration CentOS, Redhat and Ubuntu
Deployment and automation of applications using Puppet Enterprise
Configuring and supporting middleware and webserver software on Linux platforms, Apache, JBoss, Tomcat, MySQL.
Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve server events and user incidents relating to Linux systems.
Work with the wider infrastructure team to provide support and troubleshooting for Linux systems incidents.
Engage in detailed planning, change control and thorough testing to ensure performance, availability and stability.
Security related activities, system hardening, patching, vulnerability threat management and mitigation.
Configure and maintain Traffic Managers/Loadbalancers and WAF.
Manage and deploy system monitoring and management tools such as Zabbix, Xymon, HIDS systems.
Writing and maintaining Shell scripts.
Configure and maintain authentication and access integration such as LDAP, SSSD, Kerberos and TectiaSSH
Create and maintain clear and accurate system documentation.
