Cloud Platform Group at Intel is looking for a person to work on pathfinding projects in the area of compute offloading and compute acceleration in a cloud. Big part of considered area of acceleration spans image and voice recognition and HW Neural Networks implementation and learning. We are seeking a software engineer who is highly motivated, creative and innovative, and has a strong passion for designing, developing and implementing new software running driving Intel Hardware. An engineer who has a good understanding of low level software engineering mainly based on Linux Operating system. As a member of the team you will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing and maintaining device drivers and Operating System that support the Intel chipsets. You will have an opportunity to work very closely with internal and external stakeholders. Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Collaborate with business and other technical leaders to clearly understand business objectives, customer needs, and product requirements. Create requirements documents.
  • Research on acceleration technologies that push the boundaries and capabilities of the current software solutions in the area of machine learning, visual and audio processing, security, coding/decoding.
  • Actively participating in all major stages of software development lifecycle, e.g. create high and low level design documents, scope tasks and provide SW estimates, complete implementation and code reviews, unit-test and validate the code
  • Work in an efficient manner with no assistance from the supervisor
  • Work in a diverse team environment, as well as independently
  • Occasionally travelling to and assisting the customers or other Intel teams located across the globe
