ABOUT US
At Vida, our mission is to help people improve their health — and to make the healthcare system better along the way.

Vida is a virtual health clinic offering personalized, expert, on‑demand coaching and programs delivered by a network of skilled providers, including prescribers, registered dietitians, therapists, and health coaches, all through an easy-to-use app. We specialize in managing chronic cardiometabolic conditions such as diabetes, obesity, and hypertension, as well as supporting lifestyle goals like healthier eating, increased physical activity, weight loss, and stress reduction.

By combining advanced technology with exceptional healthcare professionals, Vida removes traditional barriers to high-quality care. Fortune 1000 companies, major national insurers, and large healthcare organizations trust us to help their people live healthier lives.

Vida is authorized to operate in many—though not all—states. If you reside in or plan to work from a state where Vida is not registered, you may be ineligible for employment. Please discuss eligibility with your recruiter.

As a Vida Therapist, you will work remotely with a diverse group of members to support meaningful, long-term behavior change that enhances health and wellness. You will follow Vida’s guidelines, Scope of Practice, HIPAA, PHI standards, industry regulations, and all applicable federal, state, and local laws to ensure safety, quality, and compliance.

Vida Therapists are licensed mental health professionals qualified to assess, diagnose, and treat mental health conditions through evidence‑based psychotherapy.

Core Responsibilities and Duties:
• Manage a caseload of clients by delivering evidence-based assessments, treatment plans, and interventions, meeting consult expectations outlined in Vidapedia
• Set up and manage your Vida calendar so clients can schedule sessions, and maintain ongoing communication through in‑app video and messaging according to policy timelines
• Create and revise clinical treatment plans in collaboration with members
• Use Vida’s integrated Cognitive Behavioral Therapy content to teach CBT skills such as thought logging, cognitive reframing, and behavioral activation
• Track client progress consistently and act as an accountability partner
• Set goals, trackers, and habits in the Vida app to support daily reminders and encourage progress
• Provide case management, referrals, and coordination with other providers during discharge
• Follow crisis-response protocols, create safety plans, assess program eligibility, and refer clients for additional services when needed
• Communicate effectively with your Lead regarding client challenges, progress, and any performance concerns
• Collaborate with other Vida providers to deliver integrated care and strengthen outcomes
• Maintain legally compliant client records and follow Vida’s documentation standards
• Submit all documentation within 24 hours of sessions, cancellations, or no-shows
• Follow state licensing board standards of care
• Comply with federal, state, and HIPAA regulations related to medical records and privacy
• Attend and contribute to 1:1 and staff meetings, and respond to communication from your Lead promptly
• Complete required trainings on time
• Follow department policies and procedures outlined in Vidapedia
• Meet or exceed assigned performance metrics
• Serve as a Care Navigator when assigned, providing short-term consultations, screenings, crisis follow-up, and resource referrals
• Provide after-hours or on-call coverage when needed

Qualifications:
• Doctoral or master’s degree in psychology, clinical social work, counseling, marriage and family therapy, or a related field
• An active, fully independent state psychotherapy license in good standing, with the ability to assess, diagnose, create treatment plans, and provide therapy without supervision; multi-state licensure is strongly preferred
• Experience with cognitive behavioral therapy and other evidence-based therapies
• Familiarity with mindfulness techniques
• Interest in integrating technology into clinical care
• Knowledge of current research and evidence-based practices for treating depression and anxiety
• Comfortable using technology-based tools such as video therapy, mobile apps, and cloud platforms (Google Suite, SSO, Slack)
• Experience providing care in a virtual telehealth setting
• At least 2 years of experience practicing independently as a psychotherapist
• Strong understanding of clinical diagnosis, treatment planning, and techniques such as motivational interviewing, biopsychosocial assessment, crisis response, safety planning, and CBT

Other Requirements:
• Providers must follow Vida’s QA and Compliance standards to ensure a safe, consistent member experience
• California residents currently require monthly individual sign-off prior to each screening
• Exclusion screening is required to confirm that employees are not prohibited from participating in federal healthcare programs, as mandated by the OIG under the Social Security Act
• Providers must document within Vida’s platform using structured templates and free‑text fields
• Vida may reassign clients or adjust termination timelines to align with best practices
• Providers must follow the Vida curriculum and stay within their defined scope of practice
