SUMMARY

The Vice President of Investor Relations is responsible for designing and leading the company’s investor relations program. The team’s main mission is to increase shareholder value by effectively communicating Marathon’s strategy, operational updates, and financial results to shareholders, research analysts, and the broader financial community. In addition, the role supports the management team and board of directors by analyzing financial research and information about Marathon, its peers, and the wider industry to help clarify Marathon’s positioning and emerging trends.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Provide ongoing updates and information to management and the board on investor feedback, perceptions, opinions, stock price movements, and ownership analysis.
• Develop multi-year investor targeting and communication plans designed to support multiple expansion.
• Partner with finance, communications, and legal teams to create the company’s messaging to the financial community, including:
  • Drafting press releases, earnings call scripts, shareholder letters, investor presentations, and similar materials.
  • Managing the quarterly earnings results process.
  • Maintaining the investor relations website.
  • Serving as the primary contact for all investors (institutional and retail) and equity research analysts.
• Work with finance and operations teams to better understand business drivers and key performance indicators.
• Share with leadership, peers, and the board the main areas of focus coming from investors.
• Closely monitor share valuation, shareholder mix, and related dynamics.
• Track and maintain analysts’ consensus and actively participate in the financial guidance process.
• Conduct analysis on Marathon, peers, and the industry, including buy-side and sell-side trends, to keep management informed about the company’s current and evolving market position.
• Manage the IR calendar, including attendance at investor conferences, and related activities.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 10+ years of experience in investor relations (agency or in-house), investment banking, or equity research.
• Familiarity with Bitcoin, cryptocurrency, DeFi, fintech, or technology companies.
• Strong financial and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret information and financial concepts for both the investment community and management, and apply them to business analysis.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong attention to detail is required.
• Strong organizational and project management skills, including the ability to balance competing priorities, adapt to changing business needs, and meet deadlines—especially for time-sensitive projects.
