The Lead Software Engineer (Back End) helps turn big ideas into roadmaps, requirements, and reality, building and maintaining new digital services for veterinary professionals worldwide, critical to the success of Brief Media’s Clinical Point-of-Care strategy.

This hands-on position represents a key member of Brief Media’s engineering team, requiring a hybrid of strong team leadership, design, and engineering abilities. An eventual understanding of Brief Media’s core audience and industry is inherent to the success of the position.

The Lead Software Engineer (Back End) will be integral in the future leadership of our Clinical Point-of-Care team in the pursuit of developing a host of innovative digital medical tools.

KeyResponsibilities:

Build, iterate, and fix.

Architect a connected and highly available application back-end infrastructure.

Work closely with product managers, designers, and testers in a collaborative environment.

Participate in brainstorming sessions and create technical requirements.

Build and provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of engineers.

Own, prioritize, and manage the backlog.

Create better data capture and flow.

Deliver high-quality, secure, performant, maintainable code, following best practices.

Keep up to date on relevant technology news.

Participate in open source projects.
