ABOUT Tools Automation @ Oportun

The Tools/Release automation team @ Oportun is dedicated to automation. We automate anything and everything. We enable Engineering, by providing tools and automation services to help manage a multitude of distinct environments. Using continuous integration, continuous deployment, configuration management tools, we are responsible for all code from commit to deployment. We are constantly researching new tools and ways to improve our environments, always striving to optimize task completion time (improve developer productivity), improve service, reduce downtime, and increase overall system stability.

OUR TECHNOLOGY:

The Tools team is constantly striving to stay current with the latest technologies. We are using GIT for storing and managing code, Jenkins (gradle, maven, etc.) for compile and build generation, Artifactory for managing build artifacts, In-house build CICD pipeline tool using Python for integrating various tool chain to achieve Continuous Integration and Continuous deployment, Ansible for deployment automation, Cloudformation for environment stack creation, Sumologic for log analysis, NewRelic for APM monitoring, AWS for our infrastructure and the list goes on and on.

SUMMARY:

We want to grow our Tools/Release Automation team by adding an experienced and well-rounded Lead Engineer/Architect.

We are looking for a well-rounded individual to lead the design, implementation, and support of the build and deployment solution for our software. You will work closely with our platform and application teams to create new code deployment workflows, automate processes, and improve source control and configuration management systems. We’ll expect you to influence decisions and priorities regarding the creation and maintenance of such systems, including continuous build and integration systems and establishment of best practice development standards and guidelines. You’ll need to be collaborative and hands-on, someone who likes to work in the trenches and can lead strategic projects to improve our SDLC.
