What is the job?

No matter how powerful and flexible you build a platform, at the end of the day it’s the tools you present to the user that define the experience. RDX Works is seeking a savvy team lead with extensive mobile development experience to come build the experiences that will define the future of decentralized finance (DeFi).

RDX Works is in the midst of a complete rethink of what the DeFi user experience ought to be, and we need a strong hand at the helm to steer a team of incredibly talented developers and designers through delivery of a world-beating product.

Starting out, you will absorb the research, design, and user testing which has taken place over the last year, then add your insight as we settle a few remaining decisions before coming to an implementation plan. You will manage the buildout and testing of multiple applications, contribute code when needed, and find the right compromises to ensure a successful, on-schedule delivery.

What are we looking for?

• You have released and maintained consumer-facing applications in the past; your experience is not limited to internal business applications.

• You like to run development teams. You know that there’s no single right way to do it, and you have developed a sense of the things which usually work well and the things which usually don’t.

• You are comfortable with setting a product schedule and making appropriate compromises to adhere to it.

• You are familiar with the release process of mobile applications on both iOS and Android, understand how to manage testing on both, and know where delays can occur.

• You’re able to isolate the 90% case for user experiences. You think in terms of making the most common interactions effortless, rather than making anything possible.

• You are intelligent and learn quickly.

• You are a confident, prolific coder with experience in a variety of languages.

What do you need?

Essentials:

• 6+ years as a professional software developer, with at least 2 in a team lead role.

• Experience with releasing mobile applications on iOS and Android.

• Some experience with at least 3 of JavaScript, Java, Kotlin, and Swift.

Nice-to-haves:

• Some history as a consumer of DeFi; familiarity with the current web3 user experience is a big plus. E.g., MetaMask, WalletConnect, etc.

• Being noddingly familiar with the practical aspects of asymmetric cryptography and zero-knowledge proofs will greatly accelerate you up the learning curve. The theoretical underpinnings are less important for this role than the practical applications of said theory.
