The Lead Developer has overall responsibility to meet, maintain and enhance programming requirements of the company including customization of existing software and development of bespoke programs. Responsibilities include guiding the programming staff as well as programming, assisting the Project Manager with discovery, documentation, and project management. The Lead Developer works with the IT team to ensure software products and systems are effectively integrated and meet the business needs of the company.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP
Under the general supervision of the Vice President, the Lead Developer works with the Project Manager, Programmer, Database Administrator, IT Operations team, Finance department, and with vendors and other third parties.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop or recommend software that support business goals as defined by senior management
Maintain existing software and perform enhancements and updates as needed
Provide mentoring and support to subordinate developers
Establish and maintain coding guidelines, best practices, code reviews and documentation
Effectively communicate software projects status in a timely and clear fashion
Provide support and assistance to the Finance department for the monthly reservation invoicing process
WORKING CONDITIONS
Working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. The Lead Developer is seated most of the time.
