Our mission is to involve every healthcare professional in clinical research and make clinical trials a viable care option for all patients. By removing obstacles, Care Access accelerates the approval and delivery of vital and life-saving treatments.

Who We Are
We genuinely care. Our team drives our mission to expand access to clinical trials for patients everywhere. We lift each other up, explore new ideas to advance medical progress, and strive to create lasting benefits for future generations.

Position Overview
The Registered Nurse in this position is responsible for notifying patients about abnormal lab results in alignment with state licensure requirements. Core duties include reaching out to patients, documenting all interactions, following up on escalated lab concerns, and coordinating with providers to ensure each communication is handled correctly and in compliance with clinical and legal standards. This role is crucial for timely patient outreach and regulatory adherence.

What You’ll Work On
• Review and interpret lab results from the pre-screening program, independently evaluating flagged abnormal, urgent, or critical findings for patient follow-up.
• Contact patients to explain abnormal or critical lab results, using approved guidelines and remaining within the RN scope of practice, while communicating compassionately—especially when results may indicate serious issues.
• Educate patients to help them understand their results and make informed decisions.
• Apply critical thinking to assess urgency and prioritize outreach for abnormal or critical results.
• Document all communications thoroughly, including results, concerns, and next steps, following regulatory and signature requirements.
• Manage time effectively while handling multiple lab assessments and patient calls, prioritizing urgent matters.
• Use problem-solving skills to address lab inconsistencies or data-related issues.
• Use data insights to identify trends that support evidence-based improvements and better patient outcomes.
• Stay current on healthcare regulations to ensure communication is legally and ethically compliant.
• Escalate matters outside the RN scope to an on-call licensed provider (NP/PA/MD/DO) and assist with completing result delivery and documentation.
• Address escalations from the Retention Team related to lab questions, discrepancies, or additional test requirements, then communicate resolutions to patients and document accordingly.

Physical and Travel Requirements
• This is a remote position with less than 10 percent travel; occasional planned trips may occur.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to ensure coverage when team members are unavailable.

What You Bring
• Strong analytical and communication abilities, with dedication to a patient-centered approach.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple patients simultaneously.
• Ability to work independently while remaining connected to a broader clinical team.
• A vital role in maintaining clinical and legal standards through careful communication and patient management.
• Precision in data interpretation and documentation to ensure accurate reporting of lab results.

Certifications, Licenses, Education, and Experience
• Active RN license with a commitment to regulatory compliance; compact licensure required. Additional state licenses may be needed.
• BSN or equivalent degree preferred.
• At least three years of experience in nursing, clinical research, medical communication, or a related field.
• Experience using Salesforce or other EMR systems for documentation.
• Licensure must be in good standing.
Compact states (42) include Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Texas, and others.
Non-compact states (8) include California, Nevada, Illinois, Hawaii, Alaska, Oregon, Minnesota, and New York.

Benefits (US Full-Time Employees Only)
• Paid vacation, sick time, and holidays.
• Fully covered medical, dental, and vision insurance for employees; 75 percent coverage for dependents.
• HSA plan.
• Short-term disability, long-term disability, and life insurance.
• A culture committed to growth and equity.
• 401(k) retirement plan.
