About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Data Governance Engineer to join our team and play a key role in ensuring that data ingestion processes align with enterprise governance standards while enabling scalable and reliable data integration into our global data lake.

This position requires a strong background in Data Governance, combined with hands-on experience in Data Engineering practices. The ideal candidate will act as a bridge between business and technical teams, ensuring data quality, compliance, consistency, and operational efficiency across data platforms.

The role profile is approximately:

  • 70% Data Governance
  • 30% Data Engineering

Key Responsibilities : Data Governance

  • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to define, document, and validate data requirements for external data ingestion.
  • Ensure compliance with established data governance frameworks, policies, and standards related to data quality, security, privacy, and integrity.
  • Monitor and enforce governance processes across data ingestion, transformation, and consumption layers.
  • Promote data stewardship and best practices in data management throughout the organization.
  • Support governance initiatives related to metadata management, lineage, data ownership, and access controls.
  • Ensure alignment with data privacy and compliance regulations such as GDPR and CCPA.

Data Engineering

  • Design and implement data ingestion processes for structured and unstructured data from multiple external sources.
  • Support data integration workflows within the global data lake environment.
  • Leverage Databricks capabilities to optimize data processing, orchestration, and transformation pipelines.
  • Work closely with engineering teams to troubleshoot, enhance, and maintain ingestion workflows and data pipelines.
  • Apply SQL and data modeling concepts to support scalable and efficient data solutions.

Communication & Stakeholder Management

  • Lead strategic and constructive conversations with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Act as a liaison between technical and non-technical teams, translating business requirements into governance and technical solutions.
  • Influence discussions by proposing process improvements and governance best practices.
  • Communicate complex concepts clearly and effectively to different audiences, including executive stakeholders.
  • Provide guidance, support, and training on data governance principles and processes.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Data Science, Engineering, or related fields.
  • Proven experience in Data Governance initiatives and data management frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience with Data Engineering concepts, especially data ingestion and integration processes.
  • Experience working with Databricks and modern data platforms.
  • Strong understanding of data quality, metadata management, data lineage, and governance controls.
  • Solid knowledge of SQL and data modeling concepts.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced English communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and hands-on attitude.
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
  • Collaborative and proactive mindset.
  • Experience with data visualization and reporting tools.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data ecosystems and enterprise-scale data lakes.
  • Experience navigating between technical, business, and executive teams in global environments.
