We are looking for a Backend Developer (Mid-Level) to help build scalable backend services for a modern cloud-based platform. This role focuses on implementing APIs, distributed services, and integrations that connect with multiple enterprise systems and external platforms.
You will work on systems that require reliability, asynchronous processing, enterprise-grade security practices, and cloud-native architectures, collaborating closely with senior engineers and cross-functional teams.

Your Mission
Develop and maintain backend services that support complex business workflows and system integrations.
Implement reliable services capable of handling external system interactions using asynchronous processing and fault-tolerant patterns.
Collaborate with senior engineers and platform teams to ensure services meet standards for performance, reliability, security, and observability.
Work closely with frontend developers, product managers, and infrastructure teams to deliver high-quality platform capabilities.
Contribute to improving engineering practices, code quality, and system maintainability.

Key Responsibilities
Develop backend services using Python.
Build and maintain REST APIs exposed through API Gateway.
Develop containerized applications using Docker.
Implement asynchronous workflows, background processing, and event-driven patterns.
Develop integrations with enterprise systems such as identity providers, messaging systems, and SaaS platforms.
Work with PostgreSQL-based databases, including platforms such as Supabase.
Implement workflow orchestration and long-running processes using Temporal.
Integrate AI-powered capabilities through services such as AWS Bedrock.
Implement monitoring and observability using tools such as OpenTelemetry, Fluent Bit, and Grafana.
Collaborate with infrastructure teams working with Terraform and GitHub Actions for CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation.
Follow security, performance, and operational best practices when building and maintaining services.

Required Qualifications (Essential Technologies)
Candidates should have hands-on experience with the following technologies:
Python (backend development)
REST API development
Docker and containerized applications
API Gateway
PostgreSQL
Event-driven architectures and asynchronous processing
Message queues or background processing systems
Workflow orchestration tools such as Temporal or similar
Infrastructure as Code concepts (Terraform or similar)
CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions or similar tools
Observability tools such as OpenTelemetry, Grafana, or similar
Additionally, candidates should demonstrate:
Understanding of distributed systems concepts
Familiarity with resilience patterns such as retries, idempotency, and error handling
Understanding of authentication and authorization concepts (OAuth, OIDC, SSO, RBAC)
Ability to troubleshoot and support backend services in development and production environments
Good communication and collaboration skills

Nice to Have
Experience with Supabase or PostgreSQL-based platforms
Experience integrating AI or LLM-based capabilities
