Senior Java Engineer Gorilla Logic is working with our client to help build their team of highly intelligent and capable engineers. Based in San Jose, Costa Rica, this is a unique and highly technical role, requiring strong initiative, platform leadership, and product to market experience in delivering a leading-edge platform solution. Our environment will require you to work effectively with your teammates, of course. Develop new application features and supporting existing programs in open source Java environment.
Develop service-based, server-side solutions in Java.
Develop new application features and supporting existing programs.
Develop REST-based web services in Java.
Requirements
5-7years of development experience in Java is required
Experience with Spring,JDBC, JMS and XML
Experience with Tomcat
Experience with JDBC
2+ years building REST web services
3+ years of Oracle Experience
Experience working with small to mid-sized teams
Experience collaborating with US based teams
Experience with a ORM framework such as Hibernate and iBatis a plus
Must have the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Strong communication skills to interact with Agile team members
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
Bonus skills
Experience in Web technologiesincluding HTML, CSS, Javascript and modern JS framework like AngularJS or React a plus
Experience with Swing UI a plus
Experience with REST frameworks like JAX-RS and Jackson a big plus
Experience with MySQL is a big plus
Sybase experience is a plus
Familiarity with AWS (Amazon Web Services) including RDS, ELB, VPC, EC2 and S3 is a plus
