They are responsible for the software that handles more than 5 billion requests per day and manages hundreds of millions of pounds of our customer’s money – and the demand on our services is increasing day-by-day. Key Responsibilities

• Working as part of an agile team of between 6-7 developers
• Developing software in an iterative cycle with a focus on architecture and design throughout
• Creating elegant solutions mainly with Java to solve complex business problems
• Testing developed software to ensure a high degree of quality
• Owning the entire product lifecycle, from conception through to in life maintenance and support
• Always on the lookout for innovative solutions or technologies that could benefit our business.

Key Working Relationships

• Working closely with developers in other component teams to ensure efficient and consistent integration of services across teams
• Participating within the development community with the aim of promoting and improving software development at Betfair
• Building effective cross team relationships between product, customer support, operations and software development teams through communication, cooperation, and teamwork.
