Job Summary:

As a Java Developer, you will be part of a development team dedicated to providing innovative and inspiring solutions to meet the needs of the North American K-12 education sector. You will demonstrate creative, high-quality, customer-focused programming, development and testing skills using an agile development methodology. Dependent on skill level, you may be the lead on various projects or project components, or may be called upon to do technical design work.This position is located in our Markham office, and reports to the Student Information System Manager. We will consider remote workers.

Key development tools for this position include: J2EE technologies, JQuery, Struts2, Oracle and SQL Server databases.

Combined with your experience, knowledge, and passion for working with or learning these toolsets, you have the willingness, agility and technical competence to quickly ramp up your skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Interact with all Developers for overall technical, design and product architecture advice.

• Design and develop customer-focused solutions that have a positive impact on the company and our clients.

• Conduct high level peer testing and code reviews, providing positive and developmental feedback.

• Create specification and design documentation.

• Direct contact with customers to gather information and specifications.

• Contribute to the design and development of a next generation product.
