Position Description: IT Application Developer

Under the supervision of the Application Development Lead, the Application Developer is responsible for creating web-based and stand-alone software applications to support Provider Resources, Inc. (PRI) business objectives and contractual obligations. Primary responsibilities will be using Microsoft developer technologies (primarily . NET and C#) in creating new applications and modifying existing applications. PRI requires the Application Developer to work with other developer-related applications such as Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services, and Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS). Primary qualities for this position are problem solving skills, ability to independently find solutions to complex issues, attention to producing quality software, and willingness to work off-hours when necessary. This position requires that the candidate undergo an extensive background check prior to being offered full time employment. The developer must be willing to work with sensitive data and follow all the rules and guidelines applicable.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and represent PRI’s mission, vision and values to all internal and external customers.

  • Engage clients in appropriate communication and interpersonal skills that manages client expectations and builds a collaborative relationship with the client.

  • Interact with government and private sector clients, partners, and PRI staff in a professional and accountable manner, and as a representative of PRI management.

  • Writing software requirements documentation using Microsoft Word and other applications as appropriate.

  • Creating detailed software design documentation using Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Word, and other applications as appropriate.

  • Create SQL scripts, stored procedures, and user functions in T-SQL for Microsoft SQL Server.

  • Create and deploy reports for Microsoft Reporting Services.

  • Creating and modifying web form based web applications in C# and ASP . NET and deploying these applications to new and existing sites.

  • Prioritize and work multiple tasks across multiple projects or work efforts.

  • Follow change control process outlined in PRI IT Manual to ensure integrity of the production environment and delivery of quality products.

  • Ability to isolate, replicate, and verify defect fixes.

  • Ability to communicate clearly (written and verbal) to include all forms of documentation as well as updating management regarding deliverable timeline changes.

  • Ensure requirements are understood and meet with the appropriate personnel as needed to completely develop-to and meet requirements.

  • Communicate with management regarding problems – especially those that impact deliverable timelines.

  • Identify any potential quality issues per defined process and escalate potential quality issues.

  • Coordinate with other developers, the test team staff, and program management team staff as necessary to ensure a quality product is produced in a timely fashion.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
