As a Staff Software Engineer and Tech Lead on our iQueue for Operating Rooms (OR) Engineering team, you will be instrumental in architecting and scaling the infrastructure that powers our Operating Room optimization products. You’ll collaborate with product managers, fellow engineers, designers, data scientists, and other business stakeholders to design, implement, and maintain secure, high-performance, and resilient cloud-based products. WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Design and implement robust, scalable infrastructure to support our operating room optimization product line.
- Provide technical leadership in complex projects, guiding architectural decisions and best practices in security, code quality, and performance.
- Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, and fellow engineers to build solutions that address real-world healthcare challenges.
- Review and refine designs and code, ensuring maintainability, efficiency, and alignment with business goals.
- Being a hands-on contributor to the codebase, diagnosing and resolving performance bottlenecks, and championing continuous improvements.
- Travel to 2 team events per year, as well as optional customer site visits, within the US.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- 8+ years of experience developing and deploying production software in cloud environments.
- A proven ability to lead technical initiatives and mentor engineers through architectural guidance and code reviews.
- Expertise in backend development, with a deep understanding of enterprise application development, RESTful APIs, and distributed systems.
- Strong grasp of relational databases (MySQL).
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a track record of working effectively across cross-functional teams.
BONUS POINTS IF YOU HAVE
- Experience building healthcare solutions, particularly those integrating with EHR systems and experience with the HL7 specification.
- Deep familiarity with AWS services or GCP equivalents.
- Exposure to frontend frameworks such as Angular or React.
- Hands-on experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Integration expertise with third-party data sources, including two-way data syncing.

$140,000 – $190,000 a year
LeanTaaS takes a market-based approach to pay. The offered base salary will reflect careful consideration of a number of factors, including the level you are hired into, your location, skills and qualifications, prior relevant experience, internal equity, and market conditions. This range may be modified in the future.
