As Spotify’s Indie Partnerships & Programs Lead, you’ll work closely with the Artist and Label Partnerships team to develop and maintain key artist development initiatives. You’ll collaborate with Spotify teams across marketing, product, strategy, communications, and policy to build artist development programs that benefit both Spotify and its industry partners. You’ll also represent Spotify within independent and emerging artist communities, oversee independent label and licensor relationships on behalf of the Label Partnerships team, and support educational efforts designed to engage emerging artists.

For this role, we’re looking for an exceptional candidate and passionate music fan with experience managing partner relationships. You should be collaborative, committed to operational excellence, detail-oriented, a strong problem-solver, and able to manage multiple priorities—building and maintaining campaigns while also creating new strategies to advance artist development both on and off Spotify.

This position reports to the Head of East Coast Label Partnerships.

**What you’ll do**
– Lead Spotify’s high-touch initiatives for emerging artists and indie partners, delivering “white-glove” programs that strengthen Spotify’s value to the independent community.
– Create, implement, and maintain an artist selection process for artist development programs.
– Engage the independent music community proactively, turning insights into actionable recommendations for internal teams.
– Coordinate all artist, management, and label-facing efforts related to artist development for the Artist and Label Partnerships teams.
– Enhance existing artist development programs with clear implementation plans, goals, and realistic timelines.
– Manage a team of Partnership representatives focused on independent label and licensor relationships, including recurring priority release support, technical troubleshooting, and priority artist marketing.
– Act as a trusted point of contact for key communications between Spotify and independent label, licensing, and distribution executives.
– Support and often lead Spotify educational initiatives that engage artists, management, and the label community, including at festivals, conferences, and industry events.
– Partner with Spotify for Artists, Comms, and Policy teams to strengthen Spotify’s narrative in the independent community by amplifying credible artist and industry voices during key moments (such as conferences, activations, and educational programs).
– Build, lead, and maintain education initiatives aimed at label partners (major and independent) and other industry groups.
– Advocate for increased involvement of emerging artists across Spotify initiatives through cross-functional internal collaboration.
– Track project outcomes and regularly report progress to music-team executives.

**Who you are**
– You have 8+ years of experience supporting partner management, project management, emerging artist campaigns, or global marketing campaigns.
– You’re a passionate music fan with strong awareness of different genres and music cultures.
– You understand the music industry, including experience with labels and/or management.
– You have a strong grasp of the marketplace, competitors, and current industry trends and innovations.
– You know the current major label and indie landscape, including key labels, artists, and trends.
– You have deep knowledge of the independent label and artist ecosystem, including trends, key companies and industry figures, and opportunities for innovation.
– You communicate effectively with internal and external partners, including experience with public speaking and artist-facing interactions.
– You’re highly organized and focused on operational excellence—able to plan, deliver on tight deadlines, and maintain strong attention to detail.
– You’re a calm, strategic leader who can share a clear project vision and drive execution across key stakeholders.
– You thrive in fast-paced, high-intensity environments and enjoy working with a team that moves quickly.
– You’re optimistic, self-motivated, entrepreneurial, and genuinely interested in solving problems.
– You can quickly adapt and learn new skills as needed.
– You’re willing to travel and participate in evening and weekend events.

**Where you’ll be**
This role is based in New York, New York, or Los Angeles, California.
– We offer flexibility: some in-person meetings, while still allowing work from home.
– We ask that you come in 2–3 times per week.
