Piton Labs is hiring a full-time Senior Software Engineer. We’re looking for someone who enjoys full-stack development and brings especially strong backend skills. Ideally, you also have solid experience with cloud infrastructure. Experience in startups—either as a founder or as a member of an early team—is a plus. We prefer candidates in time zones between GMT‑8 (US Pacific Time) and GMT‑3, but in some cases we also consider applicants from other regions.
At Piton Labs, you collaborate with startups and large organizations to solve their most challenging technical problems. You handle the uncertainty and complexity that come with software development with confidence, helping customers build products and clearly define what should actually be built. You don’t just pull tasks from a backlog—you help set priorities and solve the most valuable problems for our customers.
We’re generally technology-agnostic, but most of our projects use TypeScript, React, and Go. We primarily build our cloud infrastructure on AWS, though some customers use other providers. You should have at least five years of experience with common web application stacks, relational databases, and modern frontend technologies. Experience with the tools mentioned above is helpful, but not required. You should be able to deliver reliably over the long term with well-tested work.
A typical week might include:
• Developing complex user interfaces for web or mobile apps
• Designing and implementing a serverless API layer for a new product
• Building and deploying cloud architecture using infrastructure-as-code tools
• Presenting new features to customer stakeholders
You work independently and genuinely enjoy writing code. You enjoy solving problems and continuously growing your technical skills. You should bring the following qualities:
• Practical: focused on solving problems and creating value, with a willingness to innovate when needed
• Self-driven: able to take full responsibility for a product or feature, with a clear understanding of technical and collaboration requirements
• Deeply experienced: at least five years in the role, with experience across a variety of projects and a drive to keep developing
• Adaptable: able to grow with evolving technologies without feeling limited by specialization
Remote work guidelines:
• Fully remote team with no physical office
• Highest priority for candidates with valid work authorization in the USA
• Next priority for applicants from Canada, Uruguay, or Paraguay
• Most days require 4–6 hours of overlap with US Eastern Time
• Digital nomads are welcome, with lots of flexibility around location
Why you should work with us:
• Competitive compensation: $140,000 for US-based candidates
• Significant quarterly profit sharing, typically $2,500–$5,000
• Four weeks of paid vacation
• Permanently fully remote
• Strong work-life balance—you work with fast-growing startups without sacrificing your weekends
• A flexible, autonomous culture with very few meetings and high trust in your ability to deliver results
