Piton Labs is hiring a full-time Senior Software Engineer. We’re looking for someone who can work across multiple layers of the software development stack, with priority given to candidates who excel in backend development. You must have strong hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure. Startup experience—such as through personal projects or working at early-stage companies—is a plus. We strongly prefer candidates in the GMT-8 (US West Coast) to GMT-3 time range, though we may consider other time zones depending on the situation.

## Responsibilities and Technologies

At Piton Labs, you’ll work with both startups and established organizations to tackle their most challenging technical problems. You’ll operate in a high-uncertainty, high-complexity software development environment, helping customers build their products by focusing on what truly needs to be built. You won’t just follow a predefined task list—you’ll help set priorities to ensure effort is spent on what matters most to our customers.

We’re not tied to a single technology stack, but most client projects use TypeScript, React, and Go. We typically rely on AWS for cloud infrastructure, though some clients may use other providers. You should have at least 5 years of experience building in one or more large web application environments, including relational databases and modern frontend frameworks. Familiarity with our preferred tools is helpful but not required. You must be able to consistently write reliable, well-tested code.

A typical week may include:

– Building advanced user interfaces for web or mobile applications
– Designing and developing a “no hard dependencies” API layer for new web products
– Using Infrastructure-as-Code tools to create and deliver cloud infrastructure
– Presenting new features to relevant customer stakeholders

## Ideal Candidate Profile

You’re independent, self-driven, and passionate about building software. You enjoy solving problems and continually improving your technical skills. Key traits include:

– Practical mindset: focus on solving problems and delivering value; use creativity when needed
– Self-driven: take ownership of products or features while balancing technical and people factors
– Deep experience: 5+ years across multiple project types, with ongoing improvement over time
– Adaptability: grow with technology rather than confining yourself to a single specialty

## Remote Work Policy

– Our team is fully remote, with no physical office
– We prefer candidates who live in the United States and have legal work authorization
– Secondary preference for candidates from Canada, Uruguay, or Paraguay
– The role requires 4–6 hours of availability each day during U.S. Eastern Time
– We welcome digital nomads—your location can be flexible

## Why Join Us?

– Competitive compensation: $140,000 USD annual salary for U.S.-based candidates
– Quarterly bonuses tied to company profit, typically $2,500–$5,000
– 4 weeks of paid annual leave
– Full-time remote work
– Strong work-life balance—you’ll collaborate with a fast-growing team without sacrificing weekends
– Flexible culture: fewer meetings, more trust-based collaboration, centered on your ability to deliver results
