Piton Labs is hiring a full-time Senior Software Engineer. We’re looking for someone who can handle full-stack development and has exceptional backend expertise. Strong cloud infrastructure experience is ideal. Startup experience—either founding your own company or working in early teams—is a plus. We prioritize candidates located in the GMT‑8 (US West Coast) to GMT‑3 time zones, though applicants from other regions may be considered case by case.

Responsibilities and technical focus

At Piton Labs, you’ll work with startups and more established organizations to tackle their most challenging technical problems. You’ll navigate the inherent uncertainty and complexity of software development—not only building products, but also helping customers clarify what should be built. This isn’t “just taking tasks from a list.” You’ll help set priorities and focus on solving the problems that matter most for our clients.

We stay technology-neutral, but most projects use TypeScript, React, and Go. We typically rely on AWS for cloud infrastructure, though some clients use other providers. You should have at least five years of experience with mainstream web application stacks, relational databases, and modern frontend technologies. Familiarity with our usual tools is helpful but not required. You must be able to continuously deliver reliable, well-tested code.

Your week may include:

• Building rich user interfaces for web or mobile applications
• Designing and developing a serverless API layer for new web products
• Architecting and configuring cloud infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code tools
• Presenting new features to client stakeholders

You’re self-driven and enjoy writing code. You like solving problems and continuously strengthening your skills. Key traits include:

• Experience: 5+ years across multiple projects with ongoing growth

Remote work policy

• Fully remote team—no physical office
• Priority given to candidates in the United States with legal work authorization
• Second priority given to candidates from Canada, Uruguay, or Paraguay
• Most workdays require 4–6 hours of overlap with US Eastern Time
• Digital nomads are welcome—location is flexible
