Piton Labs is hiring a full-time Senior Software Engineer. We’re looking for someone who can handle full-stack work, ideally with stronger backend development skills. The ideal candidate will also have solid experience with cloud infrastructure. Startup experience—whether building your own project or joining an early-stage startup—is a plus. We strongly prefer candidates located in the GMT‑8 (US West Coast) to GMT‑3 time zone range, but applicants from other regions may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Responsibilities & Technology
At Piton Labs, you’ll work with both startups and large organizations to solve their most challenging technical problems. You’ll need to navigate the inherent uncertainty and complexity of software development—helping clients not only build products, but also clarify what they should build. This isn’t just about picking up tickets; you’ll help define priorities and focus on solving the core issues that matter most to our customers.
We don’t restrict technology choices, but most projects use TypeScript, React, and Go. Cloud infrastructure is typically built on AWS, though some clients use other providers. You should have at least five years of experience with mainstream web application stacks, relational databases, and modern frontend technologies. Familiarity with our preferred tools is helpful but not required. You must be able to consistently deliver reliable, well-tested code.
A typical week may include:
• Building rich interfaces for web or mobile applications
• Designing and implementing a serverless API layer for a new web product
• Using infrastructure-as-code tools to design and deploy cloud architecture
• Demonstrating new features to stakeholders
About You
You’re self-driven and passionate about coding. You enjoy solving problems and continuously expanding your technical skills. Key traits include:
• Practical: focus on solving problems and creating value, and know when innovation is needed
• Independent: own products or features, understanding both the technical and human aspects
• Experienced: 5+ years of experience across diverse projects with ongoing technical growth
• Adaptable: keep evolving with technology rather than limiting yourself to a narrow niche
Remote Work Policy
• Fully remote team—no physical office
• US candidates with legal authorization to work in the United States are preferred
• Second choice: candidates located in Canada, Uruguay, or Paraguay
• In most cases, you’ll need 4–6 hours of overlap with US Eastern Time each day
• Digital nomads are welcome; work location is flexible
