RESPONSIBILITIES: • Lead an innovative and growing cross-platform engineering team that works on solving complex challenges in a fast-paced startup environment • Mentor, lead, and provide feedback to members of the team • Build software prototypes and deliver in a fast paced iterative process • Establish development practices for the technology teams, including release cycles, choices of technology and coding standards • Work closely with product management and designers on distilling functional requirements into technical designs that result in innovative mobile and web products • Be responsible for all aspects of the company’s engineering product development activities within time and budget constraints while fostering innovative solutions to customer needs

REQUIREMENTS: • Graduate degree in computer science, scientific computing, applied computing, computing engineering or similar field is required • 10+ years relevant work experience • A record of solid technical achievements and experiences • Deep experience with Android/Java, and iOS/Objective-C • 5+ years web application development experience, capable of deeply understanding and working at all layers of a web application stack; designing and implementing large, distributed and scalable services • Experienced in web technologies and frameworks (i.e. HTML, CSS, JS, SQL, Ruby on Rails, etc.) • Experience with RSpec and BDD a plus • Deep experience/ skill in managing outsourced teams in foreign countries is required • Excellent communication skills — Ability to communicate with senior management and across cultures • Strong English skills needed — reading, writing, and speaking; Mandarin Chinese desirable • Must have a “startup” mentality (previous startup experience a plus)

Salary and compensation

$140,000 — $150,000/year
