We are seeking an experienced Group Controller to own the day-to-day financial operations for our French and international scope. You will work closely with our finance team of five and report directly to the CFO.
This position is open to fully remote candidates based in France and Europe, or candidates who can work on-site at our Paris headquarters, with flexible hybrid arrangements welcome.
Operating in a Private Equity-backed environment and supporting the integration of two recent acquisitions (France and the US), the Group Controller will oversee financial operations across a dozen international legal entities, with additional entities expected in the future.
This role is an important part of the finance team during a period of rapid growth, scaling through both organic expansion and strategic acquisitions.
Current finance stack: Pennylane, Xero, Payhawk, Payfit, and more.
Key responsibilities include:
**Closing and reporting**
– Oversee the preparation of monthly consolidated reporting (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow), ensuring quality and on-time delivery
– Coordinate the annual financial statement process (management accounts, IFRS consolidation, transfer pricing, intercompany reconciliations, etc.)
– Manage the re-internalization of the monthly closing process for the US acquisition in coordination with the external US accounting firm
**Financial operations**
– Manage all group accounting activities, including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, revenue recognition, group consolidation, and intercompany transactions
– Coordinate auditors’ work and serve as the primary point of contact
– Oversee cash collections
– Lead the upcoming ERP implementation
– Contribute to due diligence, refinancing, or exit processes as needed
**Budgeting and forecasting (with the FP&A analyst and CFO)**
– Contribute to annual budget preparation
– Maintain and update the short-term cash-flow forecast
**Internal controls and process improvement**
– Document and strengthen intercompany accounting processes
– Identify and resolve discrepancies, and proactively propose process improvements
– Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and corporate governance requirements
**Profile & skills**
– 5 to 8+ years of relevant experience, including a strong track record in:
– Solid technical accounting and controls foundation developed through audit, transaction services, or equivalent industry experience
– Experience in a similar role within a multi-entity group, LBO, or SaaS environment
– Fluency in French and English, comfortable managing day-to-day communication with French/US/UK teams (calls, emails, reporting)
– Strong interest in automation and modern finance tools with AI
– Ability to work independently in a fast-growth environment, balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution
– Deep knowledge of financial regulations, accounting principles, and compliance standards
– Prior ERP implementation experience (e.g., NetSuite, Sage100, etc.) is a plus
– Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to collaborate across teams

Salary: €70,000 – €80,000 per year.
