You will drive our grocery strategy in the U.K., owning the P&L of a rapidly growing category. You’ll negotiate with major suppliers, refine pricing and promotions, and use deep data insights to deliver the best grocery experience in the country. This role suits someone who excels in high-growth environments and is ready to build and scale.
You will:
• Build and own the grocery category by managing the P&L and creating a strategy that ensures the right assortment, pricing, and promotions to achieve sales, margin, and inventory goals while increasing customer loyalty.
• Manage vendor relationships by identifying, negotiating, and securing partnerships with national suppliers and emerging brands to ensure strong pricing, terms, and supply chain efficiency.
• Lead and influence by mentoring teammates and collaborating across supply chain, marketing, data, and operations to improve category results.
• Optimize pricing and promotions using data to set pricing strategies and plan promotions that deliver strong value for customers.
• Improve the shopping experience by making sure our assortment is curated, localized, and aligned with customer needs.
• Scale and automate category processes using technology, data, and automation to improve decision-making.
• Stay ahead of trends by identifying market shifts, competitor activity, and customer behavior to make proactive, high-impact decisions.
You have:
• 5+ years of experience in category management, buying, merchandising, or vendor management within grocery, retail, or e-commerce, ideally with digital merchandising or fast‑moving categories.
• Demonstrated P&L ownership, including revenue, margin, and efficiency management.
• Strong data-driven decision-making skills, using insights to guide strategy (Excel, SQL, and Tableau knowledge is a plus).
• Advanced negotiation abilities, with experience securing favorable terms and building strong partnerships.
• A startup mindset, moving quickly, embracing ambiguity, and taking decisive action.
• A customer-first perspective, always making choices that enhance convenience and value.
• Leadership skills that allow you to influence and collaborate effectively across teams.
