About this role:

Gruntwork is hiring a senior Golang engineer to focus specifically on Open Source projects, primarily OpenTofu but also Terragrunt and other tools. *Note that this is a contractor position.

– Work collaboratively with the open source community to design and implement innovative new features at the frontier of devops tooling

– Help maintain and improve the quality of our codebase, infrastructure, and documentation

– Review and provide feedback on pull requests from the community and team members

Qualifications for Success:

– 5+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on GoLang

– Proven experience with open source projects, ideally in a leadership role

– Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

– Has extensive Terraform experience. You have directly authored plenty of Terraform modules, you’ve operated Terraform in prod and can speak from your years of experience, and you’re excited to use OpenTofu.

– Has a passion for DevOps best practices. You’re passionate about the best way to run modern cloud infrastructure in a secure, convenient, and enjoyable way.

About your time zone:

Our interview process:

After you apply for this role, here’s the process we’ll go through to evaluate a mutual fit. As this role is closely linked with the OpenTofu community project, the OpenTofu core development team will be involved in the technical phases of this interview process.

– Phone screen. We’ll do a quick phone screen to assess a general fit.

– Technical interview. We’ll talk shop with you to see if we’re on the same page about the technical requirements for the role.

– Technical Assignment. A technical challenge designed by the OpenTofu development team.

– Culture / Values Interview: We’ll ask about prior work experiences and challenges and how you dealt with them.
