SALARY RANGE: Our client is looking to pay $50,000 – $75,000/yr

THE OPPORTUNITY Requirements Experience Expectations:
5+ years of experience developing web applications using modern web frameworks (React preferred)
Strong understanding of REST APIs, microservices, and security protocols
5+ years of experience with serverless technologies like AWS Lambda, Google Cloud Functions, or Azure Functions (AWS Preferred)
Strong database development experience (Mongo preferred) and data modeling experience a plus
Experience with containerization and cloud platforms (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, AWS)
Proficiency with Git tasks
Excellent open-ended problem-solving skills
Strong communication, collaboration and people management skills

What you’ll be working on
We are looking for a talented senior engineer, with interest in open ended problem solving and building scalable artificial intelligence (AI) software to join our cutting-edge AI startup. As the first senior technical hire you will be responsible for the full software life cycle behind our web-based AI software systems.
You will be expected to help in establishing and leading our engineering team and in developing a high-performance culture within the group. You will take ownership of managing the design, implementation, testing, and delivery of our AI software systems, while championing software development best practices, such as creating and managing project plans, code reviews, and agile development methodologies. You will also work alongside our founders to develop and execute our AI vision and to ensure our solutions always align with our clients’ needs.

Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain the web-based AI applications using modern web frameworks (React)
Develop APIs, microservices, and serverless functions that integrate with our client’s AI solutions
Develop and maintain databases, including data modeling, optimization, and administration (Mongo experience preferred)
Work with their chief AI scientists to integrate AI models into the web applications
Write clean, testable, and scalable code following best practices
Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and proper version control
Troubleshoot and debug issues across the entire technology stack
Work with the latest web technologies, including serverless computing, microservices, containers, and cloud platforms
Stay up-to-date with emerging AI and Cloud technologies and industry trends
