At Octopus Energy Services, we’re looking for a collaborative, innovative, and experienced Supply Chain Director to lead and grow our supply chain function worldwide.

In this role, you’ll provide strategic and operational leadership for Procurement, Planning, Fulfilment, Transportation (including inbound and outbound), and Production across all markets we serve. As a key leader, you’ll set the overall strategy to improve efficiency, meet the needs of different business units, and ensure supply chain resilience and sustainability as our organization grows rapidly.

Working across divisions—including our Services, Generation, and Marketing teams—you’ll deliver innovative solutions and help drive our growth goals. You’ll play a critical role in positioning supply chain as a strategic partner across the wider business, tailoring supply chain strategy to support market expansion, and building reliable, flexible operations for our portfolio of renewable energy and technology installations in residential locations.

What you’ll do

• Create and implement a comprehensive global supply chain strategy aligned with business objectives and the needs of diverse markets.
• Ensure supply chain strategies reflect the organization’s vision, values, and sustainability goals—particularly for renewable energy installations and large-scale energy generation.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring best-in-class practices are applied across the global supply chain.
• Drive innovation by embedding sustainability metrics and circular economy principles into supply chain strategy.
• Oversee global procurement, planning, fulfilment, transportation, and production teams, streamlining and standardizing processes to maintain consistent performance.
• Lead procurement to secure the products and services needed for Services (e.g., heat pumps, solar, EV chargers, smart meters), Generation projects (e.g., large-scale solar equipment), and Marketing needs (e.g., promotional materials).
• Improve operational excellence in planning and fulfilment to anticipate market demand and match inventory to business needs.
• Manage transportation strategically, coordinating inbound and outbound logistics to balance cost, lead times, and sustainability objectives.
• Use digital tools and technologies to improve end-to-end visibility and operational efficiency across the supply chain.
• Develop and track high-level KPIs across cost, quality, delivery, sustainability, and customer experience to ensure operational excellence and dependability.
• Lead cost-reduction initiatives by finding and leveraging efficiency opportunities in procurement, inventory management, and distribution.
• Take an integrated approach to planning and forecasting to maintain ideal stock levels and reduce lead times across regions.
• Support growth by building flexible, scalable supply chain processes and strengthening supplier relationships in current and future markets.
• Manage supply chain risk by creating strong contingency plans to handle disruptions and maintain business continuity and operational resilience amid geopolitical, environmental, and supply chain challenges.
• Ensure compliance with international standards, trade rules, and ethical sourcing practices.
• Recruit, inspire, and lead a high-performing global supply chain team, building a collaborative, results-driven culture.
• Create career development opportunities, succession plans, and training programs to grow skills and retain top talent.
• Mentor and guide regional supply chain leaders, ensuring alignment with global goals.

What you’ll need

• Proven experience in senior supply chain roles, with evidence of successfully leading and scaling global supply chain functions.
• Expertise in supply chain management within a technology-driven or renewable energy environment, supporting multiple business units.
• A strong track record of building and leading cross-functional teams in a global, matrixed organization.
• The ability to set long-term supply chain strategy that aligns with business goals, supports innovation, and enables organizational growth.
• Solid experience across procurement, planning, fulfilment, transportation, and production, with a strong understanding of end-to-end supply chain operations.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to handle complexity and make data-led decisions.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder influence skills to engage partners at all levels of the organization.

Desirable experience

• Advanced degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Knowledge of renewable energy markets and the regulatory landscape.
• Experience with digital transformation in supply chains, including AI, machine learning, and predictive analytics.
• A demonstrated commitment to building diverse teams and fostering an inclusive workplace culture.
