Hive builds web and mobile applications for your favourite musicians and their millions of fans. We help artists collect massive amounts of fan data, then give them tools and insights that help them sell everything (tickets, merch, etc.) directly to their fans.
We work with a wide range of artists from various genres. From large artists like Wiz Khalifa, Ryan Leslie, Dirty South & Alesso, to up and coming artists like Milo & Otis, Candyland & Adventure Club.
Nine months ago, we started our company inside a UWaterloo computer lab. We just went through Y Combinator (S14 batch) and have been exploding since demo day.
We are looking for full-stack hackers who can ship their own software and love music and concerts.
Responsibilities
- You’ll join our growing engineering team at an early stage (you’re #1!)
- You’ll help contribute to our roadmap and choose what you want to work on (motivated engineers are good engineers)
- You’ll ship code daily (hopefully more often, though)
- You’ll own whatever you build and get to see it used by your favourite artists and their millions of fans
Required Skills
- Passionate about building things. You’ve got side projects you’re proud of and you probably read Hacker News more than is healthy.
- When it comes to development, you’re comfortable owning, building, shipping your own features/products
- You thrive or want to thrive in a startup environment (startup hours, close knit team, autonomy, etc.)
- Music, concerts, and live events get you excited
- You’ve built things with our stack before (or can google and learn how to quickly):
- Bottom line We’re looking for passionate people who are fast learners.
Culture is important to us – you’ve got to know how to let loose after a few long days of work. Free tickets is part of the job and we go to all of our concerts & events.
