ReadMe.io is looking for product-focused, Node/Angular developers to help us change what ‘good documentation’ means. ReadMe replaces paragraphs of text with custom-tailored developer experiences.
The role involves both frontend (Angular) and backend (Express) programming. Having a good sense of product and design is vital, even if you aren’t a designer. We believe product management and usability is everyone’s job. Your resume may list programming languages, but your bookshelf contains Getting Real and The Design of Everyday Things.
We’re a small startup with a big reach, so you’ll be able to have a huge impact. Working at a startup means there’s lots to be done, but also autonomy, flexibility, and a clear mandate to tackle problems that push your comfort zones for the better.
Are you a good fit?
You are passionate about making products people love.
You focus on the ‘little big details.’
You have the ability to take ideas from conception to release.
You want to work on a product that you’ll use daily.
Your GitHub is equal parts embarrassing and impressive.
You stay up to date with the latest web technologies. Our audience is developers, so no legacy IE support necessary!
You love open source, and want to get paid to contribute.
You’re technology-agnostic, but have a special place in your heart for JavaScript.
You’re local to San Francisco, or willing to relocate (we’ll help with that!).
You love owls. Hoot!
What you’d be doing
Owning major feature development, including problems like syncing API references directly from GitHub, creating easy onboarding flows for developers and integrations with other API services.
Helping us build a developer-focused company culture.
Leading technical initiatives that grow and scale ReadMe.
Building a documentation platform that redefines the way people consume APIs and documentation.
